Demanding a ban on Nano taxis in the city, Karunadu Yuvashakthi Vedike, staged a demonstration in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office, here on Friday.
The protesters took out a rally from Dufferin Clock Tower to DC office premises. “There are more than 23,000 autorickshaws operating in the city. Income of auto drivers has been hit with the introduction of Nano taxis,” they said.
They alleged that the RTO had not issued licenses to Nano cars to operate as taxis, and their operation were violation of norms.
The taxis should be entirely banned, they demanded.
