Karnataka book place in last four

Karnataka teams enjoyed a fruitful outing as both the men’s and women’s team stormed into the semifinals on the penultimate day of the 48th Senior National Kho-Kho Championship here on Saturday.

In the men’s quarterfinal, the State team clinched a thriller by prevailing over West Bengal by one point.

In the women’s last-eight, Karnataka eves trounced Vidarbha by six points and an innings.

Also making into the last-four stage in the men’s category was defending champions Railways, who drubbed Jharkhand by 13 points and an innings.
In another tie, Kolhapur drubbed Kerala by a point.

Kerala women’s team got the better off Odisha in convincing fashion as they won the contest by 20 points and an innings.

In another tie, Maharashtra beat Haryana by six points and an inning.  
Results (quarterfinals): Men: Railways SPB bt Jharkhand bt 13 pts and an innings; Kolhapur bt Kerala by 1 pt; Karnataka bt West Bengal by 1 pt; Maharashtra bt Puducherry by 3 pts and an innings.

Women: Kerala bt Odisha by 20 pts and an innings; West Bengal bt Puducherry by 3 pts; Karnataka bt Vidarbha by 6 pts and an inning; Maharashtra bt Haryana by 9 pts and an inning.
