Last Updated 10 January 2015, 20:19 IST

The situation in Hosaguddadahalli returned to normalcy after the prohibitory orders were relaxed on Friday midnight.

Ban orders under Section 144 CrPC were clamped at Hosaguddadahalli after riots broke out following alleged sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl by a physical education teacher.

Labhuram, DCP, West, said that shops and commercial establishments were open on Saturday and there were no reports of any untoward incident. He said that more arrests would be made in connection with the incident.

MLC Ashwathanarayan and local corporator Chandrashekar submitted a petition to the City police commissioner seeking “proper” investigation into the case. They also urged the commissioner to beef up patrolling and instal CCTV cameras in the area.
