The woman from JP Nagar had made a complaint to the police recently, stating that Mathur had cheated her of Rs 2.9 lakh. Oblivious of the complaint, Mathur told the woman he would visit her soon. <br /><br />The CCB laid a trap for him and arrested him on Tuesday. <br /><br />The suspect had befriended the woman through a website and told her he was a pilot at American Airlines.<br /><br />The woman, who was not on good terms with her husband, met Mathur a few times and got into a relationship. He also helped her file for divorce and promised <br />to marry her once the divorce was legalised, a senior police officer said. <br /><br />Meanwhile, the suspect borrowed Rs 2.9 lakh from the woman, telling her he wanted to a buy a flat where they would live after marriage. But recently, she got to know that he was not a pilot and confronted him. Mathur, according to the officer, didn’t deny it but claimed he was actually a CIA agent. He even showed her a certification bearing the CIA’s logo. He told her he hadn’t revealed his “true” identity as he was on a “secret mission” to India. But the woman soon realised he was just bluffing. She asked him to return the money. From then on, Mathur started avoiding her. <br /><br />Things really came to a head when Mathur hacked into the woman’s e-mail, Facebook and other accounts and got some of her intimate photographs which he threatened to upload on the Internet if she didn’t give him more money. Finding no other way, the woman approached the police, the officer said and added that the suspect had confessed that he posed as a CIA agent and pilot just to lure women. He claims to be actually a lawyer in Mumbai where he lives with his wife. The officer said they were investigating if he had cheated other women. <br /></p>
