Back in the 80s and 90s, children preferred spending time with friends and families, pestering their grandparents for stories and knew better outdoor. Thanks to shrinking spaces, parks and the growing incidence of crime and insecurity all around children today are more glued to technology. It is sad, but they seem to have forgotten the art of having fun with creative games or enjoying the great outdoors.

In an attempt to fill this gap, OLX Everland presented a carnival over the weekend providing both the children and their parents to enjoy quality time together.

The two-day event at Asiad Village saw an impressive participation of youngsters at a workshop on Ebru, Turkish water painting art. There was a spectacular show by aerial acrobats, etiquette workshops, theatre for boosting confidence, fun cooking tips for children, engineering for kids (Alien Space Station) and self-defence classes for all age groups and more.

Amarjit Singh Batra, CEO, OLX India said, “We created OLX Everland so our Delhi users can enjoy quality time with their children and families. There is an obvious dearth of events in the city that the whole family can enjoy together. We noticed that parents these days are struggling to find holistic and fun activities for their kids. We wanted to change that. We are bringing families together for mutual enjoyment. This
is our way of giving back to our users and to Delhi, and creating a deeper sense
of community.”

“This is a unique event where the main focus is to give children an opportunity to pick up skills and knowledge in a fun and enjoyable manner through creative games and activities. It’s an ideal hangout with family during weekend,” Aashi Singh, a visitor told Metrolife.

The event was inaugurated by storyteller Gaeta Ramanujam, executive director at Academy of Storytelling and Kathalaya Trust, who also conducted storytelling sessions for kids at the carnival.
