Tight security in City for VHP event today

Around 250 policemen including BSF personnel conducted a flag march from Basappa Circle in Kalasipalya to Bytarayanapura on Saturday evening in the wake of the Virat Hindu Samajotsav scheduled for Sunday.

A senior police said that around 80 BSF soldiers, 150 police constables, two deputy commissioners of police, two assistant commissioners of police, 25 inspectors and four horse-mounted company took part in the march conducted in sensitive areas.

“Policemen have been deployed at various sensitive areas across the City. Strict instructions have been given to the public asking them not to take the law and order into their hands.
Security has also been beefed up at various possible points to curb the entry of Praveen Togadia, who has been banned from taking part in the event,” he said. Vishwa Hindu Parishad has organised the event.
