45-day Karavali Pilikula expo from January 12

The exhibition will have 120 stalls

Informing this to media here on Saturday, Pilikula Nisargadhama Society Executive Director J R Lobo said the revenue earned through the expo would be used for the development of ‘Samskruthi Grama’ (cultural village) in Pilikula.

The expo-cum-sale will consist of 120 stalls apart from amusement circles and a variety of food. There will be separate stalls for the products made in the artisans’ village of Pilikula. Other stalls will be occupied by various agencies from across the country, he said.

Bangalore-based Simon Exhibitors and the City-based Nisarga Enterprises have taken up the responsibility of arranging the expo, Lobo added. Entry fee will be Rs 10 per head on normal days. It will be Rs 15 on holidays and weekends. However, entry will be free on the inaugural day, i.e., on January 12.

Nagachandra of Simon Exhibitors said maintenance of hygiene would be given the top priority during the expo. “The entire one lakh square feet area will be made dust-free. The stalls will be on wooden platforms, while the walking area too will be covered by wooden planks and carpet,” he said.

District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar will inaugurate the Karavali-Pilukula expo at 6 pm on January 12.  MLA N Yogish Bhat will preside. MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Coastal Development Authority Chairman B Nagaraj Shetty and Mayor M Shankar Bhat will be the chief guests.
