The High Court on Wednesday asked the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board to come up with a date for disconnecting illegal sewerage lines in the City.

During the hearing of a petition filed by Citizen Action Group seeking to prevent discharge of sewerage into stormwater drains, a division bench comprising Chief Justice D H Waghela and Justice Ram Mohan Reddy directed the BWSSB to draft an action plan for checking flow of sewerage into SWDs.

The bench also lashed out the BBMP officials, who were not present in the court during the hearing and directed either the chief engineer or the commissioner be present in the court by next date of hearing.

The BWSSB submitted that the Yediyur lake in Jayanagar was now free from pollution after the completion of the work taken in the upstream side to prevent flow of sewerage into the lake.

However the bench suggested the BWSSB to submit a detailed plan.
