Food fests add flavour to the weekend

The city gets ready to savour the flavours of the Persian and Spanish cuisine this weekend. The newly-launched restaurant, Sufiaana at Rajouri Garden is offering a 14-day festival from February 20 to March 5. Also, colours and tastes of Spain at Schenegan from February 27 to March 1 promises to be a lively affair.

Sufiaana by Cherish is a fine dining restaurant serving lavish and authentic Persian delicacies from the middle-eastern culture.It aims to mirror the beautiful rich culture in terms of food, service and ambience; the tastefully hand-crafted interiors highlight warm and traditional Persian hospitality.

The menu inspired by north west culture offers Persian cuisine like Lebanese Lemon Lentil Soup Fattoush, Tabouleh, Khayar Bi Laban, Peshwari Barra, Chicken Shish Taouk, Chilo Kebab, Chicken Shawarma, Iranian Mahi Kebab, Chelow Kebab, Jawaneh Dajaj Mal’i, Gosht Peshwari, Paneer aur Kimam ke Kofte, Laham Kabsa, Rose Kheer and Baklava, to name a few.

The Persian food journey begins with fruit punch mocktail which consists of fresh sliced fruits, it has a tangy yet sweet flavour with a dash of mint. The fresh slices of apple, oranges leave an amazing impression of this drink.

The most interesting starters are Chicken Shawarma, Chilo Kebab, Iranian Mahi Kebab. The dessert is an interesting amalagamation of rose in kheer, imparting a royal feel to the sweet dish. Fine dining is also about feasting with the senses and in this department Sufiaana by Cherish excels with its presentation of food.

Corporate Chef Niraj says, “We made sure that everyone gets the flavour of royal Persian delicacies. We got an array of Persian dishes to this festival. Sufiaana has the ability to transport you and your senses to paradise.”

Schengen, the restaurant is celebrating the traditional Spanish food, culture and music. The festival will showcase a large selection of Spanish delicacies like Sopa de tomate y pimiento asado, Sour Cordero Sopa, Champiñones a la Plancha , Croquetas de setas , Alcachofas y essparagos en salsa verde , Paella Valenciana De Verduras, Crème Catalan.
