Sakleshpur AC in dock for forging documents

The District Sessions Court has ordered Lokayukta police to launch an investigation against Assistant Commissioner Madhukeshwar and 11 other officials, for forging documents related to a gomaala (grazing land) and sanctioning it to 15 persons.

The court has instructed the police to probe the issue in detail and submit a report to it by March 20.

Apart from Madhukeshwar, Assistant Director of District Land Records M N Krishnprasad, Tahsildar Parvathi, former tahsildar Chandramma, Land Records Inspector Ramesh, Taluk Surveyor Mallikarjunaswamy, Deputy Tahsildar Mallikarjunaswamy and four others have been named in a complaint filed against the irregularities.

According to complainant M B Swamy, a resident of Hosgadde village, the officials had colluded to sanction 54 acres 20 guntas of the 173 acres and 17 guntas of land in Survey No 82 of Hosagadde, to private parties. The officials are also accused of forging government documents related to the land so as to facility sale of the gomaala.
Swamy had petitioned the district court regarding the same, under IPC sec 200 and Sec 13(1)(c) of the Anti-Corruption Act.
