A division bench headed by Justice V Gopala Gowda sought to know the kind of action that would be initiated against the professor. The bench also sought the audit report of the Distant Education Department when Mylarappa was heading it between 2004-07.
The High Court is hearing the public interest litigation filed against Mylarappa by the former member of the University Academy Council, L Vasudevamurthy. The BU Syndicate decided to hand over the case to the CID for investigation in 2007.
However, in 2008 the Higher Education minister cancelled the decision taken by the Syndicate. Apart from it, the minister also discarded the first information report filed against Mylarappa, says the petition. The petitioner has requested the court to cancel the orders issued by the minister. The case will be taken up in the next hearing.
