Resuming at their overnight 321 for seven, North finished their first innings at 383 in 110.5 overs. Nikhil Ganta, 48 overnight, added another 33 runs to his score to remain unbeaten on 81.

Ronit Singh (4/69) and Sanju Brahmar (3/63) were the main wicket-takers for East.
East could not dish out a better performance with the bat as they found Kamal Passi too hot to handle. Passi grabbed four wickets to leave East in tatters at 167 for eight when stumps were drawn, still 216 runs in arrears.

Vinay Choudhary took three wickets to give good support to Passi.

Vishal Singh (36) and Shravan Kumar (31) helped East take their total past the 150-run mark.

In another match, ZCA Central gave a strong reply to President’s XI after the latter scored 336 in their first innings.

Central finished the day at 252 for three, trailing by 84 runs. Ashutosh Singh’s unbeaten 77 (8x4) was the salient feature of their essay and Rakshan Faraz (53, 9x4) lent him solid support.

Sudhanshu Solanki chipped in with 40.

Shaky South

ZCA South made shaky start to their reply to ZCA’s West’s mammoth first innings score of 392. They were 109 for three at close. Resuming from their overnight 223 for three, West marched to a formidable total courtesy a fine hundred from Aakrshit Gomel, who made a crafty 134.
