Shooting at home of property dealer, two goons killed

Last Updated 12 March 2015, 01:52 IST

Two alleged criminals were shot dead at the home of a former partner in west Delhi’s Bindapur on Wednesday evening. No suspect has been arrested yet.

The assailants had arrived at the house on a motorcycle and shot at the two from behind. They then rode away even as police were informed of the double murders.
Six shots had been fired by the assailants.

Police also recovered eight cartridges from the spot, giving rise to suspicion that the victims had come prepared to shoot dead their former accomplice Shiva Suri at whose house the murders took place.

Suri’s hand is being suspected behind the murders and a search has been launched for him.

Victims Bijender and Ashu were accomplices of local property dealer Suri for several years before they parted ways recently over a property deal gone wrong, said an officer.

Bijender had allegedly publicly threatened to kill Suri. The two dead men were also found to have been wanted for several criminal cases, including murder, at Bindapur police station.

Suri invited Bijender and Ashu to his home in Bindapur’s Mansarovar Park on Wednesday to discuss and resolve the monetary dispute between them.

“The two parked their motorcycle outside the house and went up on the terrace to meet Suri. Even as they were waiting on the terrace for Suri’s arrival, three persons reached the terrace and shot them in the heads,” said an officer.

Neighbours rushed to the spot on hearing the sound of gunshots, but by then, the assailants had rode off.

Police were informed at 7.45 pm and the victims rushed to a hospital where they were declared brought dead.

Suri was found missing when police looked out for him. Police have registered a murder case and are scanning the CCTV camera footage of the nearby streets.
