Three armed men barged into a trader’s office in north Delhi’s Azadpur Sabzi Mandi and robbed him of Rs 25 lakh on Wednesday evening. The victim had tried to put up a fight, but he was thrashed by the robbers.

Police are yet to identify the suspects. They are scanning the CCTV footage of the nearby localities. Some persons known to the victim are being questioned in a bid to obtain any clue. The focus is on people who were aware that he had received a large payment earlier in the day.

The victim Nand Kishore runs a business in the Sabzi Mandi along with his partner Kailash. However, he was alone at his office at the time of the crime.

The three robbers suddenly barged into his office at about 7 pm on Wednesday and pointed firearms at his temple and asked him about the spot where the cash was kept. Kishore refused and tried to raise an alarm, but he was thrashed and forced to hand over the bag containing the cash.

The robbers then latched his office door from outside and made away with the money unopposed. The victim then alerted his friends nearby who opened his office door and informed police.

A case of robbery has been registered and investigations taken up.
