SP booked under multiple charges

Following a complaint, Nazarbad police have booked a case against Superintendent of Police, Mysuru, Abhinav Khare under multiple charges including issuing of life threat to the complainant in the case.

In his complaint to Nazarbad police on Thursday night, T C Rajendra bin Chinnappa Nayaka, No 27, eighth stage, Yadavgiri had accused the SP of issuing  threat to his life, besides assaulting him for no fault of his.

In his complaint Rajendra has alleged that the SP had assaulted him at his office chamber on March 8. As a result, Rajendra has suffered a fracture in his right hand, besides bruises on other parts of his body.

Rajendra had borrowed a loan from a woman identified as Rita from Hunsur. Though Rajendra had sought three months time to repay the loan, Rita had petitioned to SP. On the day, Rita is said to have been present in the SP’s chamber, when the officer allegedly assaulted Rajendra.

Nazarbad limits
Rajendra lodged the complaint with jurisdictional Nazarbad police station on March 12, and the case was booked with the filing of a first information report (FIR) on March 12.

Following the complaint, the police framed multiple charges under IPC sections 506 (life threat), 504 (abuse), 341 and 323 (assault) and 355 (for restraining the complainant). Rajendra is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, in the city.

Khare, who is learnt to have gone out of station, was not available for comment. He is expected to return on Saturday.

Rajendra has also petitioned Prasanna Mylar, a human rights activist associated with Jana Sangrama Parishat, its divisional secretary, on March 10.
