About 13 classrooms wore a deserted look at around 12 noon. No classes were going on. Three lecturers were on leave without proper permission.

The college has 1,680 students in the degree section and 134 students in the post-graduate section. There are 47 lecturers and 37 guest faculties. Of them, only 8 lecturers were present in the college. Most of the lecturers had signed the attendance register both for the morning and afternoon sessions together.

The MLA asked the principal to get clarification from the lecturers who went on leave without permission.  He also asked the principal to make the attendance mandatory for students and to organise an interactive session with the students and their parents.

“A proposal of Rs 2.40 crore has been sent to the government for the development of the post-graduate section of the college.  A girls’ hostel for PG students will be built at an estimated budget of Rs 28 lakh, while a canteen will be built at a cost of Rs 24 lakh,” Ravi said.
