Egypt too good for Nigeria

Benin and Mozambique both failed in their bid to win a first-ever Nations Cup match when they played out a 2-2 draw in Tuesday's second Group C encounter. Benin have their first-ever Nations Cup point but will be desperately unhappy with the way they allowed Mozambique back into the game after being 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes. Egypt trailed to a fine 12th minute strike from Nigeria's Chinedu Obasi.

The striker cut inside the Egypt defence to score with a powerful shot after a pacy run.
But, inspired by their 35-year-old captain Ahmed Hassan, Egypt fought back to equalise through Emad Moteab and then went onto score two more goals in the second half.
Hassan made it 2-1 in the 54th minute with a wicked deflection off Taye Taiwo and substitute Mohamed Nagui made sure of the win three minutes from the end.

Benin took a 14th-minute lead in the Group C match with a penalty won and converted by Razak Omotoyossi, who was tripped after rounding Mozambique goalkeeper Kampango.
They went further ahead seven minutes later when Mozambique defender Dario Khan turned an attempted clearance into his own net after neat footwork from Stephane Sessegnon. Mozambique reduced the deficit before the half hour after more poor defending. Benin goalkeeper Yoann Djidonou came too far off his line at a corner, missed the ball which bounced off the back of a defender and fell to Miro, who scored with a looping header.
Mozambique scored the equaliser in the 54th minute after a quick throw-in that found Goncalves Fumo, who scored with goalkeeper Djidonou out of his goal.
