'We lost too many wickets early'

“We lost five wickets in just over 10 overs. It is tough to comeback from that situation, but we managed to post 245 and that was a good effort from us. But it was not just enough in the end,” Dhoni said in his post-match press do.
Dhoni said they also missed Ashish Nehra, who went out of the park due to a groin injury after bowling just 1.2 overs.

“We missed Nehra today as we have seen teams defending 240s. There was no dew today, so spinners were able to get spin and bounce. There was a bit of reverse swing as well, so we missed Nehra in the conditions.”
Dhoni praised Suresh Raina, who scored his third one-day hunded on the day.
“He batted very well today and got us to a competitive total. It was an excellent innings.”

Sanga lauds Raina
Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara too lauded Raina’s hundred. “It was an exceptional innings under pressure, in fact one of the best I have seen. His innings gave India a good total that was tough to chase, and their bowlers put us under a lot of pressure in the middle-order. But we are happy that we pulled it off,” Sangakkara said.
There was a bit of surprise when the Indian team management opted to take S Sreesanth, who has been expensive throughout the tournament, in the place of Sudip Tyagi who had a reasonable spell in the last game against Bangladesh.

“Tyagi bowled well, but he has to go a long way. He has to learn how to bowl in the second and third spell. He has been improving well, and hopefully he will become better,” Dhoni said.
