JOIN USState Health Minister Satyendra Kumar Jain on Tuesday suspended an executive engineer and an assistant engineer over misreporting and dereliction of duties at Lal Bahadur Hospital.
Jain conducted a surprise check at the hospital in east Delhi following complaints from Patparganj MLA Manish Sisodia, Kondli MLA Manoj Kumar and Trilokpuri MLA Raju Dhingan.
During his visit, Jain found that maintenance was slack at the hospital.
After ascertaining the facts, he placed assistant engineer Vivek Verma under suspension. Verma is responsible for maintenance.
Executive engineer Abhishek Kumar Singha was also placed under suspension for misreporting facts. Singha was asked to update the status of an ongoing construction at the hospital. The executive engineer told Jain that construction had started just three months back. However, Jain found out from senior officials and hospital authorities that construction was going on since 2013.
