Eye witnesses said that despite repeated pleas to stop the offending the vehicle, the driver escaped with the vehicle. Sandeep was crossing the bypass to the tank basin on the other side to rear sheep. It is said he was using the road as the underpass constructed is yet to be opened for public use. Rural police have registered a case.

Inordinate delay

Meanwhile, enraged by the death, the family members of the victim and other people blocked road for about three hours demanding completing the underpass work at the earliest. More than four people have been killed in the accidents on the stretch in a span of one month.

People are mowed down by speeding vehicles while crossing the roads and the drivers even don’t stop the vehicles after the accident. Farmers have to cross the busy road to reach their land situated on the other side of the road. The accidents could have been avoided if the underpass was completed, they said.

PSI Munireddy who rushed to the spot succeeded in pacifying the protesters, who blocked the road for about three hours.
