CM's medal for Home Guards commandant

This is for the first time in the history that the district is getting CM’s medal. Mariswamy has also been honoured with President’s medal earlier. Associated with the Home Guards for 24 years, Mariswamy is serving as history lecturer in Methodist College in the City.

He has been serving as the district commandant for the last two years. He has organised demonstrations and mock shows on relief and rescue operations during earthquake, leakage of hazardous chemicals, fire mishaps and other emergencies. Mariswamy is also the district resource person for literacy mission and AIDS nodal officer.
