CM to open Campco unit on Jan 18

According to a press release, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will inaugurate the unit. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya, MLA Mallika Prasad, District-in-Charge Minister Krishna Palemar, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sadananda Gowda and others will take part.

The Campco has expanded the production capacity of its chocolate factory at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada from 9,000 metric tonne to 17,000 metric tonnes a year. The new machinery has been installed from United Kingdom. It can produce different types of eclaires.

Rubber

The release stated that the Campco is all set to enter the rubber business by starting rubber procurement in six centres. The co-operative has got licences from the Rubber Board to operate in six centres including two in Karnataka and four in Kerala.

The Campco will procure rubber at its centres in Sullia and Puttur in Karnataka, and Mulleriya, Bandadka, Ponkunnam and Thodupuzha in Kerala.
