Each member had brought several of his followers along to witness the occasion.
Many stood around the dais as there was paucity of chairs. The situation turned chaotic as whenever a member was invited to take oath his followers raised slogans.
Even, when the national anthem was sung there was no silence maintained in the hall. Legislative Council chairman Veeranna Mathikatti administered the oath of office.
Members who were administered the oath were Basavaraj Patil Humnabad, Shivaraj Sajjan, Halappa Achar, Kota Srinivas Poojari, G S Nyamagouda, Mahantesh Kavatagimath, R K Siddaramanna, Mruthyunjaya Jinaga, K R Mallikarjunappa, G H Thippareddy, E Krishnappa, B Ramakrishna, Sandesh Nagaraj, M R Hulinaikar, Dayanand, Gayatri Shante Gowda and Allamaprabhu Patil.
