Being a fit bride

D-DAY DIET
Last Updated 08 May 2015, 15:35 IST

The wedding season is here. In this frenzy, most would-be brides compromise on their eating schedules and end up skipping their meals. When sometimes it happens under work pressure, there are also girls who do it deliberately with a view to reduce weight. However, what they do not realise is that starving for whatever reasons will have adverse effects on thier health. Also,it might leave them looking dull, robbing them of all the bridal glow.

Staying in shape should not happen at the cost of a healthy diet. You can lose some kilos from targeted body areas under the guidance of a skilled fitness trainer. Follow the essential three times a day meal and also try to munch something healthy in between. Munching means taking anything healthy like a fruit or a salad. The repercussion of not eating is that you tend to get hungry all the more, and to satiate it, you eat unhealthy items. With the help of a little planning, along with the combination of balanced diet and exercise, you can get lustrous hair, glowing skin and the perfect body.

Ditching carbohydrates from your diet completely is something you should not think of. Fibres in these meals reduces hunger, preventing you from overeating. One thing that almost all brides-to-be get wrong is that they avoid foods, which have  fats, without knowing that it can lead to other problems like skin dryness. Even if they do consume fats, it is in the form of low-fat foods. Problem with low-fat foods is that fat in it is replaced with starch, which is nothing but another form of sugar. So the result is not too different. Eating almonds, flaxseeds and walnuts is a good way to fill in the gap for fats. Get your food cooked in a combination of vegetable oils.

Too much of sugary food leads to bloating and makes one feel heavy and lethargic. It also one of the reasons behind weight gain, blemishes and acne on face. Stay away from sweets. Long gaps between meals aggravates craving for sugar. You can also replace white rice and bread with the brown or multi-grain varieties.Drinking water helps to stay hydrated, which has remarkable effect on the skin by way of glow. And when you are
adequately hydrated, you do not overeat.
