DH-PV contest winners bask in glory

 Deccan Herald and Prajavani on Friday honoured the winners of ‘Cricket Mania’, a quiz contest conducted during the ICC Cricket World Cup, at a function here.

The event, with former India cricketer Vijay Bharadwaj and cine star Anusree as the chief guests, was also a platform for fans to interact with the stars.

While Bengaluru resident N R Prasad bagged the bumper prize of an iPhone, the top prize was shared between Kiran N, Nandakumar and Jay Singh.

Sachin M Shetty and D Venkatesh won the second prize and the third place was secured by Dikshit R Ranganath and Jayalaxmi H K.

The contest, into its fifth year, saw great response from the readers keen to test their cricketing knowledge.

Bharadwaj, congratulating the winners, said it was good to see people from different parts of the State participating in such events, showing the reach the game enjoyed.

“It is great to see people from Ballary and Chikkamagaluru participating in such quiz events. It shows the reach cricket has had in these places. I am sure this will encourage our team to do well,” he said.
