Three international streams

Canadian International School is a culturally-rich mosaic having close to 500 students, of which 80% are expatriate and 20% Indian, and  following three international streams of education. The academic year runs from September to June, with year round admissions.
A team of highly qualified and dedicated teachers from Canada, USA, UK, Australia (40%) and India (60%) form the nucleus of this exceptionally talented staff.

A safe and secure environment supports a balanced academic programmed that is conducted in airy, spacious classrooms around central courtyards, subject-specific science labs and three fully equipped computer labs. There are two libraries with mini-media centres, music rooms, a piano lab, performing arts facilities and a fitness centre.
The student residence has separate blocks for boys and girls, offering double occupancy rooms with single rooms for 11th and 12th graders. Boarders also have access to their own computer laboratory, sports and recreational facilities including a swimming pool and fitness centre.

Experienced boarding-house parents ensure excellent pastoral care and regular communication with boarders’ parents.

International curricula

CIS offers three international curricula, the Ontario School Curriculum from pre-K to grade 12 in combination with the International General Cambridge Schools Examination in grades 9 and 10 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme in grades 11 and 12. Several foreign languages  are on offer in addition to mother-tongue support and Hindi.

Extra-curricular

CIS is committed to extending its students beyond the classroom and hosts a wide range of clubs, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Accepted for the accreditation process, by both the Council of International Schools as well as the New England Association for schools and colleges, CIS is under the auspices of the Ontario Ministry of Education, University of Cambridge International Examinations, UK and the International Baccalaureate Organisation - Geneva, Switzerland.
Graduates may receive two internationally recognised diplomas namely: the Ontario Secondary School Diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma allowing entry into the finest colleges and universities throughout the world.
