Last Updated 11 May 2015, 18:08 IST

With the anointment of K V Kamath as the president of BRICS bank, Infosys will have to initiate its hunt for a new non-executive chairman. India’s $146-billion IT industry and analyst circles are rife with rumours that current board members such as R Seshasayee and Ravi Venkatesan may be considered interim candidates.

When Deccan Herald talked to Ravi Venkatesan, he denied the rumour. “I am now travelling and will be back to Bengaluru on Tuesday. I would like to say that it is merely a speculation which I would like to deny,” he said. R Seshasayee is now the non-executive vice chairman of Ashok Leyland.

An Infosys spokesperson said, “Since we haven’t received any official communique from Kamath, Infosys cannot comment on this.”
