JOIN USThe gunman of a Congress MLA and his sons assaulted a house owner over a trivial issue at Hongasandra in Madiwala on Wednesday night.
The police said Nanjundappa, who works as gunman for Appaji Nadagowda, along with his son Sashikumar, Abhilash and son-in-law Yogesh entered into an altercation with the house owner Mahesh and manhandled him.
In a complaint, Mahesh said that Yogesh and his wife were staying in his house on lease for eight years. As the term ended in January this year, Mahesh asked Yogesh to vacate the house.
According to the police, Yogesh was dodging Mahesh and did not vacate the house. On Wednesday night, Mahesh along with two of his friends went to Yogesh’s house and asked him to vacate the house.
Yogesh informed his father-in-law Nanjundappa and his sons and they rushed to the spot.
They indulged in a heated argument. In the melee, they manhandled Mahesh and assaulted one of his friends Sampangi, said the police.
Based on the complaint, Nanjundappa and his sons were arrested.
Student stabbed, robbed
Two bike-borne miscreants stabbed a postgraduate student and made away with cash and mobile phone near ACS Layout in Parappana Agrahara here on Wednesday night.
According to the police, the victim Alok Singh was a native of Chattisgarh.
He is a student of PES college. Singh was reportedly on his way to meet his friend when the
incident took place.
Around 11 pm, Singh left his paying guest accommodation in Singasandra and went to AECS Layout to meet his friend.
Two persons came on a bike and stopped him. They asked him to hand over money and mobile phone. Singh resisted and they indulged in a fist fight.
According to the police, one of the miscreants stabbed Singh on his back and snatched Rs 350, a mobile phone and fled the spot.
A few autorickshaw drivers shifted him to a nearby hospital and informed the police.
