The MCJ students have been staging protest demanding the suspension or transfer of one of their lecturers. Around 1,000 students who took part in the protest warned that if disciplinary action was not taken against the lecturer within January 23, they would launch a fast unto death. In-charge VC Prof K K Achary promised to take a suitable decision after the Syndicate meeting on January 23. However, the MCJ students have stated that they would continue their strike until the university takes an action against the lecturer.
