Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, he said as part of the celebration, uniforms will be distributed to 35,000 female and 25,000 male members of the SHGs. As part of the celebration, taluk-level sports meet is being organised for the SHG members.
Competition for the winners of the taluk-level sports meet will be held on February 7 at Karkala.
About 500 best Navodaya SHGs will be identified and honoured on the occasion. The Navodaya SHG members from Dharwad, Shimoga, Gadag, Uttara Kannada, Haveri will also take part in the celebration.
To give impetus to agriculture, an exhibition on agriculture equipments will be held in association with Brahmavar Agriculture Research Station.
Officials to visit
State Apex Bank President M N Rajendra Kumar said that Navodaya Self Help Groups have carved a niche for itself in the State. A state-level officials will visit these SHGs at the earliest.
