Donison clinches title

Karting : Bengaluru boy records all-win show; Nayan second

Bengaluru boy Ricky Donison continued his fine form to clinch the JK Tyre — MMS Rotax Kart Open title here on Sunday.

Driving in the senior max category, the BPC racer won all the four races of the day to finish with an overall tally of 70 points, while Mumbai’s Nayan Chatterjee, representing Rayo Racing, finished a distant second with 59 points to his credit.

Kolhapur’s Dhruv Shivaji, driving for Mohite Racing, finished third with 49 points.In the final race of the day, Donison made his intentions clear from the beginning as he clocked an impressive 1:01.442 in his fourth lap to take a sizeable lead.  Though Chatterjee had the local boy in his sights till the penultimate lap, the BPC racer kept up the pace as he took the chequered flag 3.51 seconds ahead of the pack.

In the Junior max category, Mumbai’s Aaroh Ravindra won the overall title with 70 points to his credit, while Bengaluru boy Akash Gowda, racing on his home circuit, finished second with 68 points.  Mohamed Nallwalla of Mumbai took the third place with 65 points to his credit.
