BU breather for students awaiting II PU revaluation results

Last Updated 25 May 2015, 19:06 IST

Students, who have applied for revaluation or re-totalling of the answer scripts of II PU examination and aspire to pursue graduate studies in Bengaluru, will have time till the end of June to join college.

Even though Bangalore University (BU) is planning to start the first-year undergraduate courses by June 15 this year, PU students who are still awaiting revaluation results can enrol till the end of June, according to university officials.

Chaos and confusion over PU results this time have led to a flood of applications for photocopies and revaluation over the last week. The State government has even delayed announcing CET results.

BU Vice-Chancellor Prof B Thimme Gowda said the university planned to begin first-year degree courses by June 15. Even after that, students will have 20 more days to join college. “The basic requirement for eligibility to appear for the first-year degree exam is a minimum of 75 per cent attendance. If students enrol in the course even by July and regularly attend classes, this should not be a problem,” he added.

Meanwhile, officials in the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) are engaged in hectic work to despatch photocopies to candidates as early as possible. Statistics provided by the department show that a total of 6,404 photocopies have been despatched to students by speed post by 11 am on Monday. Students living in Bengaluru could have received these photocopies on Monday itself. Those outside the City will receive them within 48 hours.

The department has received as many as 20, 837 applications until now for photocopies of 41,035 answer scripts, 7,550 applications for evaluation of 12,272 scripts and 288 applications for re-totalling 507 scripts.

Students can check the register number of the photocopies despatched on the PU department’s website www.pue.kar.nic.in.
