Final arguments in the main 2G spectrum allocation scam case could not resume on Monday as a special court deferred it and fixed July 14 as the next date, accepting the defence plea that they required more time to go through the voluminous record of the case to prepare their arguments.

The special judge of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court O P Saini, however, made it clear that he will not grant any further adjournment and the case would be heard on a day-to-day basis from July 14. Former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi and 15 others are accused in the case and facing trial.

The court was scheduled to hear the arguments of the CBI which had remained inconclusive on April 15.
