One year in office, Ch'nagar MP lists his achievements

Judicious utilisation of funds claimed

On the completion of his one year in office, MP R Dhruvanarayan, the second time parliamentarian claimed to have honestly worked for the welfare of the district by utilising central funds.

Addressing media here on Thursday, the MP listed sanctioning of additional funds for the upgradation of National Highways 212 and 209, railway related works and those under progress as his achievements.

Dhruvanarayan said Rs 157 crore has been released for the upgradation of the highways. Out of 139.63 km stretch, the works on 50.24 km has been completed.

The funds released for the upgradation of State Highway-79 is Rs 17.53 crore, and Rs five crore has been spent on the purpose so far, he added.

Railways

Speaking about the works related to railways, Dhruvanarayan said, administrative nod has been given for the construction of an overbridge at Panyadahundi and Chinnadagudi Hundi at an estimated cost of Rs 20 crore each and Rs 10 crore has already been sanctioned for the same during the Central budget.

He also highlighted the extension of goods rail to the district, launching of Chamrajanagar-Kollegal-Malavalli-Kanakapura-Bengaluru rail route in the year 2014.

KV building

The building of Kendriya Vidyalaya is coming up on  7.15 acres plot, with Rs 20.96 crore alloted for the same, followed by the laying of synthetic track at district stadium, construction of building for the postgraduate regional centre among other works.
