<p>The highway, built by the Bangalore Elevated Tollway Limited (BETL), a special purpose vehicle initiated by a consortium, will ferry motorists from Bommanhalli to Electronic City and vice-versa. <br /><br />The highway which was commissioned in 2006 by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been completed by the Nagarjuna Construction Company-Maytas Infra- Soma Pvt Ltd Consortium after nearly a 15-month delay and at an escalated cost of Rs 880 crore. <br /><br />The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will be allowing motorists to travel till the grade section on a free toll but will charge motorists who use the entire elevated highway till Electronic City. The BETL has been entrusted with the work of managing a 18.55 kilometre stretch that includes even the surface road ahead of the elevated highway.</p>
