Man mows down mother in Rajasthan

A son mowed down his 68-year-old mother under his car and bashed her with bricks. Later, she was thrown out of the house and was tagged as unlucky for the family. The incident took place in Ganganagar town of Rajasthan on Saturday afternoon. None of the neighbours despite being eyewitnesses came to help the old woman, Dhanno Devi.

Later, Devi walked down to the police station in an injured condition and lodged a complaint. Police have arrested her son Sukhraj and his grandson Jasraj. Dhanno Devi has been admitted to hospital in a critical condition.

According to police, Sukhraj had fixed the marriage of his son Jasraj on Saturday morning. However, after some time in the day, he threw out his old mother saying she was unlucky for the family. None of the family members including Dhanno Devi’s daughters and her grandchildren came to her rescue.

“The marriage was solemnised in the afternoon and Sukhraj was returning home with his son Jasraj in his car. On the way they saw Dhanno Devi and ran their car over her. Both the father and the son smashed Devi with bricks. She came to us and a case was registered against them,” said a senior police officer of Ganganagar police station.

“The family came to us searching for their mother but none of them went to see her in the  hospital,” he added.
