Telangana govt unveils new industrial policy

The Telangana government on Friday unveiled a new hassle free industrial policy envisaging 14 growth areas, three initiatives and six industrial corridors with TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-certification System) at its heart which enables investors to seek clearances online.

The Telangana Assembly has already has cleared the TS-iPASS Act unanimously to provide protection to investors from inordinate delays and corruption.

Launching the industrial policy to around 2000 industrialists’ from India and other countries, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao assured investors that government officials responsible for delay in clearing a file past the due date will be fined Rs 1,000 per each day.
“After an investor files his application on line and pays the stipulated fee through the single window portal, our protocol officers will receive them at the airport and bring them directly to me,” KCR said. “By the next time you see me I will be receiving you with the package containing all permits in one go,” he told the audience assuring them that the new policy is 100 per cent corruption free.
