JOIN USSpoorthy MV capped a superb run at the State-ranking table tennis tournament at the Canara Union, winning the Women’s and Youth girls’ titles on the final day for a triple crown.
Spoorthy, who had won the Junior girls’ title on Sunday, defeated Swetha Kumarvel 11-7, 9-11, 11-7, 3-11, 0-11, 11-7, 11-3 to win the women’s title.She had earlier defeated Samyutka 12-10, 7-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-3, 11-8 to claim the Youth girls’ title.
Anirban Roy Choudhary won the men’s singles title, defeating Akshay Mahanta 11-7, 11-9, 8-11, 11-4, 10-12, 11-7 while Rakshith R B emerged winner in the Youth boys’ final, with a 11-9, 9-11, 11-8, 11-8, 12-10 win over Mahanta.
