A 28-year-old man’s face was repeatedly slashed with a blade by a man who suspected him of being police’s informer.

The suspect was arrested soon after the assault, but went on to abuse the hospital staff where he was taken for treatment.

The incident took place in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar on Sunday night. Victim Nand Kishore lives with his family in Trilokpuri and runs a mobile phone repair shop there.

Suspect Vicky arrived at his home around 10 pm and wanted to see him. He then allegedly threatened Kishore to accompany him on a motorcycle and they left for Chilla village nearby.

Once they reached an isolated spot, Vicky accused Kishore of informing on him and attacked his face with a blade with threats to kill him. Kishore ducked but sustained deep cuts on his left cheek.

Vicky attacked him three more times, leaving him injured behind his ears and in his hand. Kishore, however, fought back and raised an alarm which forced the assailant to flee on his motorcycle.

Police were informed and the victim rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. A police team, meanwhile, nabbed Vicky some distance from the crime spot.

Since Vicky too was injured while assaulting Kishore, police brought him to the same hospital for treatment. But a drunk Vicky created a ruckus at the casualty ward in an inebriated condition, hospital staff complained.

Already reeking of alcohol, Vicky abused and threatened the casualty ward staff before the policemen brought him under control.
