The BJP Delhi unit on Monday alleged that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is not only misleading people by presenting false data on corruption cases but also protecting tainted colleagues like former law minister Jitender Singh Tomar.

BJP Delhi Pradesh President Satish Upadhyay said the city has already seen the protection given by the CM to the former law Ministers Tomar and Somnath Bharti.
“Kejriwal is protecting his favourite officers,” Upadhyay added.

General Secretary Ramesh Bidhuri raised the case of an engineer of Delhi Jal Board and said that just like Tomar, the DJB engineer also entered into service of Delhi Jal Board on the basis of forged caste certificate.

“According to reliable information this engineer used to help Arvind Kejriwal by providing government information since 2011 when the Sheila Dikshit was the Chief Minister. In the year 2013 the case of forged caste certificate of the engineer was detected and after that he was suspended from the services,” said the BJP in a statement.

An FIR under section 420/468/471 was filed in December, 2013.
“After the registration of this FIR Kejriwal came to power in Delhi and the case of the engineer was not prosecuted further. The vigilance department of Delhi government is not trying to get him arrested,” it added.

Bidhuri said according to reliable information the engineer continues to be in the company of Kejriwal.

“He is seen active at the residence of the Chief Minister. We fail to understand that why the government which claims to have arrested high level officers is not trying to arrest this official,” he added.

“It seems that Kejriwal government continues to protect ministers, MLAs having forged degrees besides officers with forged certificates.”
