UK band all set to rock the city

The English drum and bass band, Rudimental is going to be in town this weekend for all you Delhiites to have a rocking time ahead.

The Brit Award and Mobo Award winners will perform on June 20 at Kitty Su, The Lalit, for Vh1 Supersonic Club Nights.

With Piers Agget, Amir Amor, Kesi Dryden and DJ Locksmith (Leon Rolle), the band actually makes it difficult to pinpoint the right genre of music they belong to, especially when they have trumpet and guitar solos infused into electronic beats.

Their album Home marked its debut with a top position in the blockbuster list in UK, which was also nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2013. Besides, the band has also received nominations at the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best New Act, Best UK and Ireland Act.

Conceptualised by LIVE Viacom18 as an extension of one of India’s superior Electronic Dance Music festival, Vh1 Supersonic, the Club Nights series aims to widen its reach by enabling more people to experience the craze and excitement in their home town with performances by top domestic and International DJs.

“Rudimental has been going for seven years,” says Leon. “It took one song – Feel The Love – to open up the gates and change things for us. We’re thankful for that, but we also know we’ve still got a long way to go.”

While the band is all geared up to rock the capital this weekend, one awaits to see Dilliwallahs response to their performance.

Talking about their visit to India, the group in a statement said, “It’s been a busy couple of months but we're so pleased to be back – the crowd has always been amazing here and we can’t wait to play in front of them with some of our new material.”
So save the date for a date with Rudimental.
