JOIN US10-yr-old found dead at compost development corporation premises
A 10-year-old boy was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the premises of Karnataka Compost Development Corporation (KCDC) in Somsundarapalya in HSR Layout on Thursday.
The police have identified the boy as M Narasimhamurthy, resident of Somsundarapalya. He was a school dropout and was doing odd jobs on the premises of KCDC.
A senior police officer said: “The preliminary investigations revealed that Narasimhamurthy might have gone near the compost machine and might have got stuck in it accidentally causing his death. But it cannot be confirmed until the investigation is completed.”
Varalakshmi, mother of the deceased, who works as a maid, rushed to the spot. Along with some people, she started protesting claiming that the employees at KCDC might have beaten him to death for going near the machines.
The mother got the information when one of the employees at KCDC informed her about Narasimhamurthy's body lying on the premises in a pool of blood.
The people who were protesting demanded immediate arrest of the engineer and senior officers and also shutdown the plant.
“As many as four employees are being questioned and a case has been registered in HSR Layout police station. Also, we are awaiting for the post mortem report, which would give us the nature of the death and injury marks found on the body,” said a police officer.
Probe ordered
Meanwhile, the special commissioner (solid waste management) of BBMP, Darpan Jain also visited the spot and ordered an internal inquiry about the incident.
The local MLA Satish Reddy rushed to the spot and consoled the angry people and announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the deceased’s family.
The matter will be taken up seriously and will question the officers as to how people were allowed to trespasss into the premises and why they had employed a minor boy.
