Taking on board the vibrant developer community in Bengaluru, Yahoo India began its first ever mobile developers’ meet on Friday, introducing the  much-acknowledged Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite.

Interacting with Deccan Herald, Yahoo Flurry Product Marketing Head Christopher Klotzbach said the meet is primarily intended to evangelise the app suite developed by the company.

“As a mobile-first company, Yahoo understands the need for app developers to have a strong mobile analytics and monetisation engine. Hence, we would like to spread awareness about the Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite,” he said.

According to Klotzbach, the Yahoo Mobile Developer Suite is a combination of data from Yahoo, Flurry, and BrightRoll. “It is widely accepted since its first launch in San Francisco in February. The suite is meant to help developers measure, advertise, monetise, and improve their mobile apps,” he said.

As part of the suite, developers will get access to Flurry Analytics with Explorer, Flurry Pulse, Yahoo App Publishing, Yahoo Search in Apps, and Yahoo App Marketing.
Klotzbach said Flurry Analytics helps to draw behavioural data from mobile apps to understand how consumers engage with their mobile devices, more specifically, mobile apps, and mobile ads.

Roger Lo, senior business planning and operations analyst (strategy and business operations) Yahoo APAC said the company is solidifying its position by holding an app developer meet in the region.

“These events help the company to gather a deep understanding of the mobile developer’s needs. We are planning to host this in other cities,” said Lo.

According to Yahoo India officials, the app developer meet got overwhelming response and the company selected 200 developers to participate.
