A farmer ended his life by jumping into a well in Honnanayakanahalli of Mandya taluk on Sunday.
Shivalingegowda (37) is said to have borrowed Rs three lakh from a nationalised bank for sericulture and sugar cane cultivation on his two-acre land. Sources said that the bank had served a notice on Gowda asking him to repay the loan.
He had left the house saying that he was going near his land, but jumped into a well. Passersby noticed the body floating in the well and informed the family members.
