Movers firm pulled up by Forum

He had urged the firm to deliver them on time. However, when he arrived at Bangalore, he found his new home empty.

The goods arrived late and in bad condition. Many of them were damaged. Insurance policy was not delivered to him in spite of paying Rs 3,876 as premium. He complained to the IV Additional Consumer Forum and its President, D Krishnappa, ordered Express Packers and Movers to pay Nitesh Bhardwaj Rs 20,000 as damages.

Credit service

This Forum has also found India Bulls Credit Services Ltd guilty of deficient service in deducting EMI amount from Prakash David’s bank account in spite of he having cleared up his loan. It has ordered the firm to refund Rs 28,720 to him with costs of Rs 3,000.

Housing society

The Consumer Forum has ordered Vishwabharati House Building Cooperative Society Limited to deliver possession of sites to three consumers within 60 days.

The Society has also been directed to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation to each of them for causing uncertainty, anxiety, mental agony and delay.

Woman sues BTMC

Y N Vijayalakshmi had complained against the Managing Director, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), for the problems caused to her when she was given a wrong bus pass by the conductor.

Vijayalakshmi was humiliated and irritated by the behaviour of the bus conductor for no fault of hers.

The consumer forum has ordered the opposite party to pay up Rs 5,000 as compensation to her.
