Hyderabad-headquartered Apollo Health and Lifestyle (AHLL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Hospitals Group, on Thursday unveiled Apollo Spectra, its new line of hospitals, in Bengaluru.

Apollo Spectra adds to AHLL’s secondary care hospitals line, which earlier consisted of only Apollo Cradle, its maternity hospital.

AHLL had acquired Nova Specialty Hospitals earlier this year for around Rs 135 crore – Rs 140 crore. It acquired nine Nova Hospitals across seven cities in India, out of which the centre in Pune was due for completion at the time of acquisition. Now, after six months of transition, planning and integration activities, these centres have been re-launched as Apollo Spectra.

Apollo Spectra is being positioned as a line of state-of-the-art boutique hospitals, customised to patient needs. “We are offering patients a pleasant environment devoid of lengthy queues, long waiting periods and other such hassles,” said Sudhir Diggikar, director, secondary care, AHLL.

Apart from the existing centres in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Kanpur, Mumbai, and Pune, the company plans to expand into Gwalior and Hyderabad. AHLL plans to invest Rs 8 crore – Rs 10 crore on all of these centres. “Although expansion does figure in the scheme of things, right now the focus is on consolidation,” said Diggikar.

The company intends to strengthen its clinical excellence by creating Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in focus specialities.
