Along with complaints, trouble also seems to be mounting for controversial godwoman Radhe Maa alias Sukhvinder Kaur, with a sessions court here rejecting her anticipatory bail plea on Thursday, a day before her appearance before the police in connection to a dowry harassment case. Judge VA Raut passed the order.

The Kandivali Police Station had summoned her earlier this week to appear before it on Friday and join investigations on a complaint filed by one Nikki Gupta  against her husband Nakul Gupta, a chartered accountant, and five other family members for allegedly harassing her for dowry at the behest of Radhe Maa.

On Friday, the defence team would have an option of moving the Bombay High Court in case Radhe Maa does not want to join investigations at this stage.

Nakul Gupta and his family members Lata Gupta, Daulatkumar Gupta, Sandip Gupta, Jyoti Gupta and Jagmohan Gupta, who are followers of Radhe Maa, and relatives of the Gupta family that owns the MM Mithaiwala eatery and Global Advertisers, had been allegedly harassing Nikki for dowry for a long time. They were also accused of abusing her and making her work in the godwoman’s ashram.

Last month, an FIR was registered on the instructions of the Borivali magistrate’s court. It was taken down under Sections 498(a), 406, 420, 323, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Dowry Act.
