A Cafe’— a quaint place near Raheja Residency in  Koramangala 3rd Block— is popular not just for its unusual name and setting but the food as well. Started in 2014 by Javed and Vijay, this is a place where one can sit and spend some quality time by themselves while sipping a hot cup of coffee and savouring delicious sandwiches and pastas.

“We see a lot of people with an underlying appreciation for art, nature and some good conversation coming to our cafe. We want to create an environment that brings like-minded people together,” says Javed.

The cafe serves sandwiches, pastas, salads, omelettes and beverages. Some of the popular items in the menu are ‘Lebanese salad’, ‘egg and basil sandwich’, ‘Spanish omelette’, ‘Mediterranean chicken sandwich’, ‘pesto in garlic pasta’, ‘Belgian waffles topped with honey and banana’ , ‘strawberry mojito’ and smoothies.

The quirky interiors, with a few tables and chairs surrounded by a small garden area, give it a very warm and cosy feel. “Serving good quality, fresh food is our core belief. Vijay's morning starts with baking muffins and cookies for the day. All the sauces like arabiatta and pesto as well as the batter for the waffles are prepared by Vijay whenever he finds time,” adds Javed.

Ask him why he chose to name the place ‘A Cafe’ and he says, “It’s a very open-ended name which marks a start to something and is open to interpretation by everyone who comes across it.  Much in line with the whole philosophy, it’s simple and intuitive,” says Javed.
