Utilise SC/ST funds within time frame, says DC

The funds earmarked under Special Component Plan (SCP) and Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) for the welfare of SC/ST communities should be utilised within the time frame, said Deputy Commissioner Meer Anees Ahmmed.

Chairing a review meeting, he said that various departments should ensure that beneficiaries get the fund. The State has implemented Karnataka Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan (Planning, Allocation and Utilisation of Financial Resources) Act, 2013, the deputy commissioner added.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer M Kurma Rao said that the funds should be earmarked as per the population of the SC/ST community members. If the funds are not utilised, then stringent action will be initiated against the officials, he added.
