Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan along with Jaaga, will be presenting an interesting event — a performance and parade  — ‘We Make The City’ by J‚r“me Chazeix on August 22, 4 pm.

Flyovers represent the future and Bengaluru has no dearth of these. But what happens under the flyover? Is the future of the City reflected here too? J‚r“me takes on this artistic challenge and celebrates the City. The event will be held under the Richmond Circle Flyover, starting at Jaaga Startup 5/1, Penthouse, 1, Rich Homes Apartment, Richmond Road and ends at No.1, Shanthi Road, Shanthinagar.

J‚r“me Chazeix's work focusses on the assembling of different media — sculpture, video, music and costume, and their cross-over in form, within the framework of contemporary art installation. Chazeix sketches artworks, the tension of which connect knowledge, design, mediation, visions and reality.

The esoteric, costume and architecture are the three essential components of his work, along with community engagement.

For Bengaluru, he has designed and implemented a multi-layered performance called ‘We Make the City’— a participatory project celebrating the metropolis. He envisages a parade, comprising architectural sculptures, photo collage, totems and poetic flags carried in public space under the Richmond Town Flyover by costumed people, in a performance dedicated to the city and its inhabitants.

This project will see 35 performers. The music is by Nikhil Narendra, choreography by Avril Unger and Preethi Sunderajan, costumes and flags by Zeix Berlin and poem and wood block print by Zeix and Jaaga.
